Hello, friends! Today’s children’s story is Aesop and Jean de la Fontaine’s fable “The Fox and the Stork.”
Like many fables for kids, it has a moral that I’ll let you discover at the end of the story.
The Fox and The Stork – Fable for kids
The fox once invited his friend the stork to dinner.
He wanted to play a trick on her: he prepared soup and served it in very shallow dishes.
The stork couldn’t eat from such plates with her long beak, so she couldn’t even taste the soup. Although she was angry, she thanked him for the invitation and invited him to dinner the next day.
The next day, the fox arrived at the stork’s house, and everything smelled delicious, so much so that it made his mouth water.
The meal came in… very tall and narrow glasses!
The fox, with his wide and short snout, couldn’t eat and went back home thinking about the trick he had played on the stork the day before.
“Do not do unto others what you would not have them do unto you.”
End of the short story of the fox and the stork.
