Hello, friends! Today, I’m going to tell you the story for children of Daniel and the lion’s den.
In this tale originally written in the Bible, we’ll see a moral lesson showing that jealousy and envy don’t bring anything good.

Cuento De La Biblia Para Niños: Daniel En El Foso De Los Leones
Long ago in Babylon, there was a king named Darius. He was a wise and good man who always sought advisors to help govern his kingdom.
One of these advisors was a kind-hearted man named Daniel. King Darius had so much trust in him that he made him his favorite and appointed him the leader of the advisors.
The other advisors began to feel jealous and plotted to get rid of Daniel. However, he was so virtuous that they couldn’t find anything to use against him until one said:
– Daniel believes in God and prays every day.
– That’s true. Let’s make a new law stating that the kingdom’s inhabitants can only worship the king, replied another. Anyone who worships other gods should be thrown into the lion’s den.
The king, unaware of how unjust this law was, approved it.
The next day, they went to Daniel’s house, arrested him while he was praying, and threw him into a pit with many lions.
When King Darius found out, he tried to save Daniel. But even he couldn’t act against his own laws.
– You have to survive because you are such a good and loyal man, he said sadly before leaving.
Darius couldn’t sleep due to worry. Is Daniel okay? Upon waking up, he rushed to the pit to see for himself.
– Daniel! Are you okay? – he asked.
Seeing no response, he peered into the pit, fearing the worst. However, as he approached, he saw Daniel waking up peacefully among the lions, and it seemed like the lions were guarding his rest.
– What happened? How did you survive? – the king asked.
– It seems that God helped me calm the lions, Daniel joyfully replied.
Overjoyed, Darius ordered Daniel to be taken out of the pit and repealed the senseless law.
Understanding that it was a trap set by the other advisors, he punished them by sending them to the lions.
